A couple of years ago, I started thinking about how short changed Easter is compared to Christmas. At Christmas we celebrate for a whole month. Before this realization, we celebrated the Easter Bunny on Saturday and focused on the spiritual on Sunday. Even then, Sunday was mostly a family dinner with a little discussion about our Savior and an Easter lesson for Family Home Evening. We're still building our Easter week tradition - it's actually eight days, from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. We use the book A Christ Centered Easter for some of our stories, scripture references and activities. I continue to collect stories and we experiment with activities that bring the spirit and focus our hearts on Christ.
Today, I will pull out the Easter decorations. The children and I will decorate with bunnies and eggs, and our hearts will remember the most beautiful of the gifts of spring.

I used that book a few years ago and loved it.
This is something my family is trying to work on as well ... we've always split the Easter bunny from Easter, but not much more than that. I'll have to look up that book you have (although I didn't realize it was a book until I read the previous comment ... GOOB that I am!)
We have not done a whole lot for Easter in the past either. Funny, as it represents a most important thing! I must remember that book.
We are gearing up to begin our Easter celebrations/countdown as well! Ever since my children were little we have done a cousin Easter party - a tradition I carried on from my own childhood. We love it!
I have loved doing this as well, and am teaching it in RS on Sunday...

I've been wondering about Easter traditions as well. What a good idea to celebrate the whole week!
A few years ago we took the "fake" out of our holidays and put the spiritual back in. I can promise that it is amazing and is so totally worth it!
