Family Home Evening: Queen Esther

We had a great lesson about Queen Esther from the Old Testament.  We talked about her the courage she had to approach the king and ask for him to spare her people. By doing this, she added her life to those who were already endangered of losing their lives.  Part of what gave Queen Ester the courage to approach the king, was the faith that her people had in her and the Lord.  They fasted with Queen Ester to be successful.

This story continues to teach me!  I usually think of this being a lesson of courage and faith, but what struck out to me this time I heard the lesson is how we can support and encourage others by fasting and praying for them.

Our activity was our making Christmas cards; and our treat was Peanut Butter Cookies.

I hadn't thought of Esther's story in that way. Cool insight!
